What is the hottest month of the year in Washington,
D.C. based on daily average high temperatures?
A. June
B. July
C. August
D. September
Answer to Weather Quiz question from June 28.
A. Flooding. National Weather Service data indicates flooding causes more fatalities than any other weather event in the United States. Flooding also occurs under more circumstances than say extreme heat or tornadoes. For example, flooding doesn’t just occur following heavy rainfall, but can also occur after rapid snowmelt or during a slow moving tropical system.
August I'm guessing has the most humidity, so I'm also going to guess that it might be typically DC's hottest month
ReplyDeleteJuly?? It may not feel as hot b/c of less humidity, so maybe you are trying to trick us!
ReplyDeleteI vote for August as the hottest Washington month. My memories of the dog days of August in DC are quite vivid. Guess that's why much of the city regulars flee to the shore in August!
ReplyDeleteIt is August!
