Prior to 2016, when was the last time two named
tropical storms developed prior to the official start of hurricane season on
June 1?
A. 1995
B. 2005
C. 1951
D. 2012
Answer to Weather Quiz question from May 19.
True. Tropical
storms have developed before June 1 in 2012, 2015 and 2016.
That sounds like a very rare event. So I'm going to guess the last time there were two early tropical storms was 1951.
