C.  The “Knickerbocker” Storm was it was dubbed was the largest snowstorm on record in Washington, D.C. when 28.0” of snow was measured.  It was given this name since the weight of the snow caused the roof of the Knickerbocker Theater to collapse.  Tragically there were fatalities.  The theater was located in NW Washington, D.C.
